Dasero - WATF / THWD

New release on Serbian label Debuger. Dasero made two deep tracks with twisted vocal samples. "THWD" is more groove, with a great bassline. One remix is done by Reqterdrumer, it has some classic Detroit claps and percussions. The other one is a tech-house bomb by Noone Costelo, best groove on the release! Recommending this one!

Funny Video About Drugs And Festival Culture

Some guy made this hilarious video "instruction" for the EDM people and such. When I say "EDM" I mostly refer to brainless kids on a ton of drugs, acting like a complete idiots. I am pretty sure that most of them don't have a clue about the music that they listened, or even where they have been the night before, but they will tell you that they had an amazing time.

Please don't do drugs, or if you do, at least try to do them safely.

[DEB062] Stole Popovic - Past In The Future

After a long, long time, Stole Popovic is back, and he is bringing two new tracks. First one is something that you don't hear every day, very powerful sound, beautiful funky lead synt, perfectly layered with other synths that are building a great stereo image. This track is remixed by DJ GrujA and Traveltech. One mix is strong and driving, and the other one is beautifully deep and atmospheric, with a great bass synth. Stole's second is minimalistic, great percs and drum rolls.

Carl Cox Videos From 1990 & 1991

Lets remember how rave parties used to look like at the very beginning. Here is a clip made by joining two videos of Carl Cox filmed in 1990 and 1991. Carl Cox is 50 years old now, but he is still rocking the dancefloors around the globe. Maybe I am getting old, but these kind of clips makes me feel like that parties music back then were a lot more interesting. Its possibly  due to the fact that I was younger and a lot more optimistic, or maybe the fuzzy video leaves more space for imagination.

Mr G And His MPC, Live!

Its enough to say MR G live! One of the most recognisable figures on the scene. His unique sound is seting him apart from the other house and techno artist, that are mostly blending into the current trends. If you have listened this man live, you will sure remember it. Me G's raw sound, hipnotic voice samples and bass riffs will make anyone understand what underground dance music should feel.

Another fascintaing thing is the simplicity of his setup, modified Akai MPC 2000SL, and a ten channel mixer is all that you need, if you have the right samples in the opscure memory of such an old machine. No laptop, no controllers, effect processors, and all the bells and whistles that are used today is needed.

The thing is that, in my opinion, today we see more and more sophisticated equipment and the sound just keeps getting colder, overproduced and generic. I like to hear some distorsion and noise from time to time. This was a nice way of saying that so much music today "lacks the balls". Too many young producers try to make their track sound perfect comparing to industry standards, and they dont realise that the earlier version had more spirit in it, and that those "imperfections" can be what separates them from the hole bunch of others.

There is just no way to say this too many times: You need to have your own, unique sound.
