Dasero - WATF / THWD

New release on Serbian label Debuger. Dasero made two deep tracks with twisted vocal samples. "THWD" is more groove, with a great bassline. One remix is done by Reqterdrumer, it has some classic Detroit claps and percussions. The other one is a tech-house bomb by Noone Costelo, best groove on the release! Recommending this one!

[DEB062] Stole Popovic - Past In The Future

After a long, long time, Stole Popovic is back, and he is bringing two new tracks. First one is something that you don't hear every day, very powerful sound, beautiful funky lead synt, perfectly layered with other synths that are building a great stereo image. This track is remixed by DJ GrujA and Traveltech. One mix is strong and driving, and the other one is beautifully deep and atmospheric, with a great bass synth. Stole's second is minimalistic, great percs and drum rolls.

Carl Cox Videos From 1990 & 1991

Lets remember how rave parties used to look like at the very beginning. Here is a clip made by joining two videos of Carl Cox filmed in 1990 and 1991. Carl Cox is 50 years old now, but he is still rocking the dancefloors around the globe. Maybe I am getting old, but these kind of clips makes me feel like that parties music back then were a lot more interesting. Its possibly  due to the fact that I was younger and a lot more optimistic, or maybe the fuzzy video leaves more space for imagination.

Mr G And His MPC, Live!

Its enough to say MR G live! One of the most recognisable figures on the scene. His unique sound is seting him apart from the other house and techno artist, that are mostly blending into the current trends. If you have listened this man live, you will sure remember it. Me G's raw sound, hipnotic voice samples and bass riffs will make anyone understand what underground dance music should feel.

Another fascintaing thing is the simplicity of his setup, modified Akai MPC 2000SL, and a ten channel mixer is all that you need, if you have the right samples in the opscure memory of such an old machine. No laptop, no controllers, effect processors, and all the bells and whistles that are used today is needed.

The thing is that, in my opinion, today we see more and more sophisticated equipment and the sound just keeps getting colder, overproduced and generic. I like to hear some distorsion and noise from time to time. This was a nice way of saying that so much music today "lacks the balls". Too many young producers try to make their track sound perfect comparing to industry standards, and they dont realise that the earlier version had more spirit in it, and that those "imperfections" can be what separates them from the hole bunch of others.

There is just no way to say this too many times: You need to have your own, unique sound.

The video is found on this channel.

[DEB058] DJ GrujA - Flight

New release by DJ GrujA is out. “Flight” is a deep track with an interesting bassline and layered synths that together create a unique atmosphere. The second track, titled “2002” is a techno banger that's a bit old school, very powerful breaks. “Flight” is going to glide you through the air and “2002” will hit you straight in the face.

Below is a video edit, made by Predrag Iv. Enjoy!

How to Make "One More Time" by Daft Punk in Ableton

Another great tutorial on sampling in Ableton. Recreating one of the most famous loops in house  music. It doesn't matter  what kind of music you are listening to, you have heard One More Time by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, better known as Daft Punk. This one was one of their first hit tracks, that made them really big stars. There has been some talk about how they created this track, allegedly, they have denied the use of samples from More Spell on You by Eddie Johns. We will not go into that side of the story. We will just point out the technical side of it. This video is a great example how easy is to create a sample based song in Ableton. Also, it is interesting how easy is to recreate this loop, at least to the skilful producer.

Dennis Ferrer @ Mixmag Lab, What a Mix!

Great mix by house legend Dennis Ferrer. A selection of very funky deep house and tech house tracks. This New York based DJ and a producer does a set in his own style that is a mixture of underground house music, ranging from disco house to some much harder tech sound. The thing that brings all tracks together is the overall funky and jazzy feeling that you can feel in every track. As we can hear Dennis is avoiding much of the today's cliche deep house sound that contain just a bassline and some looped chord, and is very boring to most of the more experienced crowd that is used to older, more complex deep house. Also in this mix you will not hear any of that trendy tech-house tracks that we see in the charts every day, but are basically a hyper-produced cheesy party music.

So, another one for the real house music lovers, from the man that worked with Masters at Work, Little Louie Vega, The Martinez Brothers etc. He also founded his own label Objektivity, that hosts some of the best producers globally.

Click "Read more" to see the partial tracklist, some of the tittles remain a secret for now.

[DEB049] Reqterdrumer - In-fa

Deep and melodic, new track by Reqterdrumer. In-fa is a very emotional track with worm atmosphere. DJ GrujA did a remix that goes full on techno, even goes a bit in trance territory. Very driving and powerful for the dancefloor.

Evolution Of The Drum Machine

Here is a great presentation on evolution of the drum machines through time, from the first days to present. Your presenters will be: Roger Linn, industrial designer that designed first drum machine to use digital samples, the LM-1 Drum Computer, and Carl Craig, one of the most important Detroit techno producers. They will talk about the drum machines far before we became aware that they exist, early experimental machines that lead to the creation of drum machines as we know today. Enjoy!

[DEB047] DJ GrujA - Ravelation

Something very unique on Debuger this time. Ravelation is a track that goes far away from the typical techno sound, lots of distorted synths and snares, slap bass samples and jazzy chords. Stanisha does a remix in "stanishastyle", a genre of his own, that cannot be described with words, you must hear it. The last but not least, Reqterdumer, great artist from Japan. His version is very emotional and melodic, but has a bass that will destroy the dance floor. A must hear.

[DEB040] Liberty Klaud - Noche Loca

Debuger 40 is out! Liberty Klaud at his best. Noche Locais a very funky tech-house track that is well layered and clearly mixed, great rhythmic and atmospheric synths. DJ GrujA broke the original beat and rearranged the sound balance. Fyono goes into completely different direction, slowing it down and making some big vocals.

[DEB039] Stanny Abram - Jobolenna

Stanny Abram does something out of the box on this one. Jobolenna is a track that is filled with layers of bass that will literally blow you away, supported with some vocals and funky samples. Remix by DJ GrujA is changing gears in the long brake, and is also very powerful. Tropical Lipstick slows things down a bit, and goes into Stanny's well known retro funk style.

[DEB038] DJ GrujA - Sunday Blues

New Debuger is out! DJ GrujA goes for an easy ride this time. "Sunday Blues" has a smooth bassline and builds up slowly by adding up layers of sound. "Mikrofonija" is more deep, with some tribal percs and a lot of ambient elements. Surely not your average tech-house release.
